How complicated Facebook ads really are and should you DIY them or should you hire an Ads Manager?
Hi, I'm Fernanda, Facebook Ads Expert and the founder of FAB Marketing and for the last six years I have been helping women to scale their business using the power of Facebook ads and today I'm here to discuss a topic that I hear all the time.
How scary are Facebook ads? How complicated are they? Should I DIY them? Should I learn how to do my own or should I hire someone? and I thought it was important to bring this topic up because Facebook ads are great way to scale your business.
They’ll allow you to automate your marketing, to free up your time and really help you to make a lot more money and scale your business.
Some people think the platform is complicated and overwhelming. And most importantly, people don't understand the data. So they don't know whether their ads are working or not and they are afraid to waste their time and especially waste their money.
So what I would suggest is the following. Depending on the stage of business that you are at, learning how to do your own ads can be very, very beneficial.
1- First
First, because obviously it allows you to save the fee that you would pay to a Facebook ads manager and you can keep all the profits of your campaign.
2- Second
Second, it helps you to understand the platform and it allows you more control over your marketing. So even when you reach a stage where you want to outsource your ads, you know exactly what you are looking for and what you are looking at.
No one can give you some BS results and tell you that these are standard because you really know how the platform works and what to expect.
3- Third
It’s really not that complicated. When you have a strategy, you are 50% there.
The problem, most of the time, people have no strategy and no idea what they are doing. So, what they are doing is they try to sell something, but they have no idea how to do it.
They don't have a strategy behind it. So they just go to the platform and try to put some ads in front of people.
4- Fourth
And lastly, but not least, it's important to learn how to use the platform with an experience Ads Manager. You wouldn't walk into an airplane in just decided let's see if I can fly this machine, let's see if I can do it. You wouldn't do that. So why would you do it with Facebook ads?
Why would you just walk into the platform and go, well, let's see what I can do here. That's a waste of your time and really a waste of your money.
So what you would want to do is to get a good teacher, someone who has experience with Facebook ads and who understands small business owners and understands that you need to learn only what you need to know for your business.
You're not trying to become a Facebook Ads Manager to take on clients. So you don't need to know all that there is to know about the platform.
You only need to know what you need for your business. And therefore a good teacher is essential. Also you're going to have to learn what data to look at to understand whether your ads are performing.
And there are only a few key metrics that I use to determine whether a campaign is profitable and is working and performing well and whether it's not. And when you look at those key metrics, it becomes so clear and so easy to determine where and what you need to change.
Many of my clients and students have enjoyed learning how to learn their own ads and felt empowered about doing it and keeping all the profits to themselves.
